QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED A LOT

  • Can I get help with childcare fees?

There are several options available to help families in Wales with childcare costs. Eligible working parents of three and four-year-olds can access up to 20 hours of funded childcare per week during term time through the Welsh Government’s Childcare Offer for Wales, 30 hours for 9 weeks of the school holidays. Families may also benefit from Tax-Free Childcare, where for every £8 paid into an online childcare account, the government adds an extra £2 to help with childcare fees. In addition, students in further or higher education may be able to receive financial support for registered childcare costs through their college or university. Some families are entitled to financial support through Universal Credit. Please ask us if you need support.

  • Do you charge a deposit?

Within six weeks of your child’s start date, we kindly ask for a deposit equal to one month’s childcare fees. This deposit secures your child’s place at the nursery and confirms your commitment to joining us. The deposit will be held on your account and can be used as payment towards your final month’s fees, provided all accounts are up to date.

  • Do you give customers a holiday allowance?

Our holiday year runs from 1st September to 31st August. Each child is allocated two holiday days for every full day contracted per week across the year. For example, if your child attends three full days per week, you will receive six holiday days annually. Holidays are charged at 50% of your normal fees and must be taken within the same holiday year, as unused days cannot be carried forward. Please note, there is no charge for days when the nursery is closed over the Christmas period or on Bank Holidays.

  • Do you charge for settling in sessions?

We want every child and family to feel happy and confident when starting nursery, so we offer a series of settling-in sessions completely free of charge. These sessions benefit everyone — helping us to get to know each other, building trust, and most importantly, supporting your child’s wellbeing. We will work closely with you to make the process as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

    Our settling-in process:

    • The first session lasts around 30 minutes and parents stay with their child to chat, play, and get to know us. During this time, we’ll also look over any paperwork together.

    • It’s a great opportunity for both you and us to ask questions and share information.

    • If you feel comfortable, you may then choose to leave your child for a further 30 minutes.

    • We will arrange additional short play sessions following this to help your child settle gradually.

    • Please book your initial session approximately 3 weeks before your start date — this gives plenty of time to rearrange if any unforeseen issues arise.

    • Try to avoid times when your child is tired, as this helps them enjoy the experience more.

We’re here to make settling in a positive and reassuring start to your nursery journey.
