At Sêr Bach we are exceptionally proud of our menus and the dining experience we provide our children.
We believe meal times should be a social occasion enjoyed by all and also that they provide valuable learning opportunities.
We have staff who are experienced in encouraging fussy eaters to try foods and we work with our parents to ensure that all our children learn to eat in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
We received our Tiny Tums Best Practice Award in 2016 and were the first nursery on Anglesey to do so. We have successfully continued to meet the requirements of the scheme and have three staff who have attended the training so you can be confident that our menu’s answer all the dietary requirements of your child ensuring that they have the energy to play learn and explore and that they are developing a healthy attitude towards food which should remain with them for life.
Our cook, Ceri, prepares a host of healthy meals to delight the children including a two course dinner and a warm and nutritious tea time meal.
We have a choice of breakfast foods available for the children to choose.
Our older babies and children have a choice of breakfast cereals, porridge, fresh fruit, milk or water.
Our morning snack consists of variations of fruit and a drink of milk, cheese, bread sticks or crackers.
Everyone enjoys a two course dinner. We offer a variety of meals from a three week rolling menu which ensures that whatever days your child attends Sêr Bach they will receive a variety of meals at dinner time.
Examples of the meals are:
Roast chicken dinner served with roast and mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables.
Apple sponge with custard
Home made fruity chicken and vegetable curry served with rice
Salmon and pasta baked in a tomato and vegetable sauce and grated cheese.
Fresh fruit smoothie made with a mixture of fresh fruits and natural yoghurt
We offer a range of light dishes including a sandwich alternative. Some of the favourites are home made pizza, beans on toast or tuna pasta bake.
For our younger children we offer alternatives to some main meals at lunch times, please ask to see a copy of our full menu for further details.
While your baby is developing complimentary feeding skills (weaning) we offer a range of foods depending on each families personal preference, we will follow your lead in regards to baby led feeding, however if you require advice we are happy to help.
We have a variety of home cooked pureed vegetables and fruits to make combinations to suit each baby’s individual tastes and stage. Some of the dishes we have found to be very popular are butternut squash and pear, sweet potato and mango, ratatouille with mashed potatoes.
We have a comprehensive Allergy awareness file for your information.
For more information please contact us. Our Menus are displayed outside our dining room for your convenience and each of our parents receives a copy of the current menu as a part of their parent pack prior to their child starting at Sêr Bach.
